Three Products That Can Help Clean Up Your Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are delicate things that help people who have vision problems like astigmatism, or poor eyesight. Their uses may be invaluable to people who need them, but they are one of the most delicate things that you will ever own in your life. The portability, convenience and ease of use of contact lenses are all offset by its fragility and the relatively high chance of them being lost, misplaced, or forgotten.
Cleaning and disinfecting your contact lenses aren't any different at all. There are a few ways for you to clean your contact lenses, assuming that you don't use disposable contact lenses, cause then you don't need to clean them anymore. But for those who use contact lenses that last much longer, cleaning and disinfecting your contact lenses is a very important thing to do. And as you may know, there are a lot of lens solutions out there that you could use to clean, disinfect, maintain and ultimately just keep your contacts moist and clear when used.
1. Multipurpose solutions could do wonders for your contact lenses.
Multipurpose solutions are by far one of the most popular cleaning solutions for your contacts. This solution is used for rinsing, storing, cleaning and disinfecting the lenses as well. If you wanted an all in one product for your contact lens that could do everything you need it to, this is the product for you.
Some bacteria like acanthamoeba can actually be eliminated from your contact lens through multipurpose lenses. Other microorganisms like bacteria, fungi and other potentially harmful organisms could all be eliminated through this.
Imagine, if you didn't clean your contact lenses, there are a whole lot of infections that you could possibly get. Think of it as if you were using a straw that was already used by someone else that you don't know. For one thing, it could be really dirty, and you could get sick from it.
2. Saline solutions, it's no multipurpose solution but it works.
Saline solutions don't have any disinfecting properties for contact lenses, but what it does instead is that it rinses your contact lenses after cleaning so that it would be easy for you to put them back on. It's kind of like putting grease on your gears. Saline solutions make it relatively easier and more convenient for you to put on your contact lenses without any discomfort. Imagine putting on dry contact lenses; that'll definitely bring some tears to your eyes.
3. Daily cleaners, for a daily cleaning basis.
Daily cleaners are used to well, obviously clean your contact lenses. What's different here, though, is that you don't need to submerge your contact lens on a container filled with it. But instead, all you need to do is to apply some drops on your contact lens while you let it rest at the palm of your hands. Once you're done with this, rubbing your lens with your fingertips will help clean it more. Just make sure that you don't have long finger nails because it will definitely damage your lens.
